St. Martin Lantern Parade
Join us for a fun German inspired family event. We will meet at Madison on Maine Education Center, former Madison Elementary School. Enter from parking lot in the back, up the red stairs, and follow the signs to the classroom.
At 6:00 pm Hear the story of St. Marin of Tours and why he is celebrated in Germany every year on November 11th. Then we will learn a traditional German song and get ready for the Lantern Parade at 6:30 pm around Madison Park.
The Story time and Lantern Parade is free to attend – bring your own Lantern for the parade.
If you want to make your own Lantern – you may purchase a Lantern Kit at the event ($10.00 includes lantern, light, and stick – must be pre-registered). To make a lantern at the event – please arrive at 5:30pm.
German inspired refreshments after the event can be purchased for a fee. $5.00
